Actually, try China, in first place with 369 million online users, followed by the U.S. (253 million), then India (133 million), Japan (104 million) and Brazil (91 million). I’m trying to transfer my United miles to Continental to take advantage of much better options (more flights, less miles), but seem to be unable to do this. The website for the transfers isn’t working and customer service has failed to get back to me with an answer.
Does anyone know if this is still an option or is it over as part of the merger?
Thanks for the help.

I spent Thanksgiving weekend in Manhattan, after getting a great deal through AirTran vacations. I had never booked through a third party like AT Vacations – I have always booked directly from the airline and hotel sites, however booking the package rate allowed me to save some money.
What I did not know was since the hotel was booked through a third party, it would not be eligible for HHonors points. That is what I found out after the trip, by searching online for reasons why I was not given credit, and by calling the HHonors customer service line.
I just logged into my HHonors account, and credit for the trip is now showing, nearly 2 months later. Completely unexpected! Could it be because I was recently got upgraded to gold status thank to this FW forum? http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/expired-deals/1154637/
Anyone have a similar experience? Unless I know why I was given credit, I would be hesitant to book again through a third party in the future.

Owners of Photopoint accounts are today receiving an e-mail letter addressed from Ed Bernstein, the CEO of Photopoint to inform them that Photopoint will be switching to a subscription based service. “…starting in mid-May, PhotoPoint.com will no longer be a free service“. They will be charging an annual fee of $9.95 (existing members, limited time offer only) for storage of up to 1,000 images or $19.95 with 25 free prints bundled. It’s a sad day for the photo sharing community but it’s no surprise to those of us who have been following the fortunes of the market or who understand the economics of such a huge project.
Phil: Photopoint aren’t the first, Photoloft announced similar charges in mid March. I’ve already seen several messages posted on our forums by Photopoint users exclaiming their sadness and confirming that they will not be continuing their membership with Photopoint. I’m not sure if Photopoint just haven’t yet updated their website but there’s no mention of charges on the “Sign Up” page nor is there anything in their terms and conditions, which is a little misleading.
The question now is, when will the rest follow?
The e-mail letter:
Dear Member,
PhotoPoint has dedicated its business to protecting your pictures and allowing you to share them easily with your family and friends. We thank you for making PhotoPoint the #1 online photography company.
To continue providing you the online photo experience you enjoy, we need to make several changes to our service in the coming weeks. Most significant is that, starting in mid-May, PhotoPoint.com will no longer be a free service, except for limited “trial” memberships.
We believe you deserve to get real value for your dollars. For the past six months we have conducted surveys and talked directly with members to learn what people want from an online photo company. We have built a full-service program based on value, not just storage, designed by users like you.
As a PhotoPoint Member, you will enjoy all of the current PhotoPoint features including secure photo albums and PicCheer photo postcards, plus:
- Save 5% off all print orders for the year
- Create and Save up to 5 SmashCast Movies – add music and graphics to your photos
- Store up to 1000 photos*
- Print at Home service – print photos at home like a pro
- Enjoy express customer service
- Receive our PhotoPointersTM Tutorial Series – valuable tips and tricks for improving your photography
For a limited time, you can join for an entire year for a one-time charge of $19.95, and we’ll include 25 free prints (the prints alone are a $12 value). As a valued member, you also have the option of a special lower priced basic membership, which does not include prints, for just $9.95 for the year. These introductory offers will end April 30, 2001.
We want to thank you for your loyal support of PhotoPoint, and look forward to continuing to provide you with the best photo service on the Internet. If you have any questions, please visit our More Information page, or contact Customer Service.
Sincerely,
Ed Bernstein, CEO PhotoPoint.com

A News Blog about Motorcycle Accident Attorneys Orange County. Personal injury is a legal term for an injury to the body, mind or emotions, as opposed to an injury to property. The term is most commonly used to refer to a type of tort lawsuit alleging that the plaintiff’s injury has been caused by the negligence of another, but also arises in defamation torts. The most common types of personal injury claims are road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping accidents, assault claims, accidents in the home, product defect accidents (product liability) and holiday accidents. The term personal injury also incorporates medical and dental accidents (which lead to numerous medical negligence claims every year) and conditions that are often classified as industrial disease cases, including asbestosis and peritoneal mesothelioma, chest diseases (e.g., emphysema, pneumoconiosis, silicosis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic obstructive airways disease), vibration white finger, occupational deafness, occupational stress, contact dermititis, and repetitive strain injury cases. If the negligence of another party can be proved, the injured party may be entitled to monetary compensation from that party. In the United States, this system is complex and controversial, with critics calling for various forms of tort reform. From: Motorcycle Accident Attorneys Orange County. Attorneys and lawyers often represent clients on a “contingency basis,” in which the attorney’s fee is a percentage of the plaintiff’s eventual compensation, payable when the case is resolved. Oftentimes, having an attorney becomes essential because cases become extremely complex, such as in medical malpratice cases. From: Motorcycle Accident Attorneys Orange County.
